Self Care Sunday- 6 Essentials For The Perfect Bath

Self care Sunday - 5 essentials for the perfect bath

Yes, spas are amazing! But, when you’re a busy mom like myself there is no time for spas. They require maybe a few hours of your day and a busy mom has no time to spare. I do, however, try to bring the spa-like environment into my bathroom every Sunday with a warm relaxing bath.

Baths are my favorite and they’re the best way to unwind from your routine causing tension and stress in your mind, body and soul. You can create the perfect bath with just a few things.

Keep scrolling to learn about the 6 essentials for the perfect bath.

6 Essentials For The Perfect Bath

1. Bath Salts

Bath salts help soothe tired muscles and ease stress. They also have tons of skin benefits. They are packed with healing minerals and elements that will help rejuvenate and heal the skin. If you're struggling with eczema, psoriasis or other skin conditions, bath salts are going to soothe any symptoms.

Salts work as a powerful detoxifiers that will draw out unwanted toxins and dirt from the pores. They also gently exfoliate the skin and instantly makes your body feel softer, smoother and more relaxed. Bath salts like the ones mentioned below smell great. They all feature a blend of essential oils that fill the room with an aroma that will enhance the experience.

With your order, you get a free a muslin bag that you can use to pour the salts in, this is amazing because some people don't like to clean up the flowers after. You just fill the bag with salts, you close it and you let the it float in the water.

2. Candles

Lights play a huge role in relaxation. We are biologically designed to have more energy in the day time in bright light conditions, and wind down as it gets darker. With the lights off, the candle will provide a warm glow that will not be too harsh but rather just enough to see by. And it will be be pretty relaxing.

And, aromatherapy is a great way to encourage the body to calm itself down. Some candles smell amazing.

3. Music

Listening to music during bath time or just in general can reduce stress, lower anxiety levels, and promote relaxation. Create a playlist of your favorite songs or find a playlist of peaceful and relaxing instrumental music on YouTube.

4. Bath pillow

I hate it when my I'm inside the tub ready to sit back and relax, then I realize that I forgot my head pillow. Resting your head on the tub can be pretty uncomfortable. But, you can even head pillows and even full body bath pillows that will cushion your whole body against the surface of the hard tub.

You can also just use a towel for cushion.

5. Face Masks

For the ultimate spa experience at home, apply a mask and let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off with a warm washcloth is the tub. If you want to avoid harmful chemicals, then take a look at these natural clay masks.

If you have dry and sensitive skin, you'll probably like the Soothe Clay Mask because it is more gentle on the skin. If you're struggling with acne and oily skin, you should try the powerful Detox Clay Mask.

Both masks help absorb dirt, toxins, pollutions and excess oils from the pores which helps treat and prevent breakouts. They also gently and naturally exfoliate the skin for an instantly softer and smoother complexion.

6. Body Scrubs

Exfoliating is super important for all skin types. I absolutely love to exfoliate during my bath time because my body is soaked in warm water, my pores are open and it’s the perfect time to remove dead skin cells, dirt and other impurities from the skin. I usually do it at the end, right before getting out.

I prefer body scrubs that are 100% natural. If you like to avoid chemicals and preservatives, we recommend the body scrubs mentioned below. They will not only remove dead skill cells, they will also cleanse, soften, hydrate and nourish your skin.

The body scrubs come with a spatula to scoop out the products. And, you can get the scrubs in 2 different sizes!

Do you shower before or after your bath?

If you're wondering why I didn't mention soap, shampoo or a loofa, it's because I like to shower before taking a bath. That way, I'm not soaking my body in sweat and dirt.

Don't forget to moisturize your body after your bath, it's so important! I love to lather my body is natural body butters made with organic oils like Jojoba oil, Rosehip oil, Almond oil and others. I also love to a apply natural oils on my face, my favorite one is an all natural rose infused oil that has helped my skin so much.

I can’t think of a better way to spend my self care Sundays!

Enjoy your bath!
